Maxaflow Systems Ltd can not supervise the use of Maxaflow pumps and is therefore not liable for damage to health, life or goods that can come through misuse, negligent use or abuse.
Please adhere to the specific safety regulations and instructions set by the manufacturers of the drums and fluids. Please wear typical and sufficient safety gear, e.g. gloves, goggles, boots and single piece overall. Before opening an unknown drum, or a drum under inside pressure, please make sure that humans and the environment are not endangered. Prepare a suitable binder, first aid kit and so on. Be carefull when opening a drum, open the drum plug slowly, so that pressure can equalise. Electrostatic differences between drum and receptacle can lead to earth seeking sparks and fire when transferring combustible fluids. Use appropriate earthing measures to equalise potentials.
The use of Maxaflow pumps for carbonated fluids, and similar, should be checked with Maxaflow and the manufacturer of the fluid. Tests under specific safety systems should be conducted. If unsure and for fluids not in the "suitable fluids" list (view here), please contact Maxaflow or the manufacturer of the fluid.
For mixing of fluids please refer to the specific safety cards and manuals by the manufacturer of the fluids. Do not mix hot and cold fluids, especially hot into cold is dangerous. Please leave an expansion volume inside the receptacle. Please make sure in advance that the receptacle (bottle or else) is large enough for the volume required and appropriate for the fluid.
Only use new or reconditioned (as new) drums to transport or store fluids. Rusted or dented drums must be discarded. If the drum is not airtight, e.g. by a defect lid seal or rust holes, the pump will not work efficiently and in extrem cases will not transfer any fluid. If in doubt, please perform a pressure test to 6 psi before filling the fluid. Please refer to the drum manufacturer or agent for instructions. Cool down drums to room temperature before filling any fluid.
